Analysis of the data collected during the resident engagement on how the council should deal with its budget shortfall has been published and is available to view online.

The month-long resident engagement, which closed on Thursday 10 August 2023, received over 8,000 responses and is one of the most successful engagement exercises conducted by Woking Borough Council.

The published analysis has informed the development of a series of options on the future of discretionary council services that are presented in the Medium-Term Financial Strategy report, which sets out the strategic financial approach required to deliver the council’s Improvement and Recovery Plan and tackle its severe financial challenges.

The report will be discussed at the following public council meetings:

• Overview and Scrutiny Committee – Monday 11 September
• Executive – Thursday 14 September
• Full Council (report adoption) – Thursday 28 September
